Dentistry - UCLan

As a career, dentistry offers many opportunities for a well-motivated individual. The majority of dentists do not have a career ladder to climb and the opportunity to improve ones working life and salary is determined by individual motivation rather than by competition with peers. Many dentists own their own practices and this allows a considerable degree of flexibility in working practices. The School of Dentistry at UCLan provides state-of-the-art equipment in a brand new, purpose built building. Whereas other schools have been increasing their numbers, the relatively small intake at UCLan allows a more interactive friendly course. In the School of Dentistry at UCLan, students will learn clinical skills in one of the most modern manikin head rooms in Europe, equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment. The 4 DECs have been equipped with brand new surgeries, tutorial and study facilities dedicated for student teaching. UCLan and the DECs will be linked via IT for learning and teaching, with individual student access to the relevant intranets.
